I had a great time racing at Big White this weekend!  Beautiful weather for the first race, but it was more like powder cross for the second race!  On the first day I qualified first and was able to hold on to first position all day ending up on top of the podium.  I qualified first again the next day but in the big final Michelle Brodeur was able to get in my draft and pass me over the last jump.  It was great training and a I learned a lot!  Looking forward to some quality gym time before heading off to Europe for a month.

It was a very exciting race last night in Sochi! All of the Canadian men were riding the best and they all deserved a spot in the Big Final.  They were all riding aggressively and strategically.  It's to bad that there was so much Carnage, it made for great racing and it was a very exciting race to watch!  They all deserve some well needed time off now before the last to World Cups in Europe.

Dominique Maltaise's Silver winning run! Amazing work getting through the crowd and into second.  Looking forward to watching the men race tonight after having the race cancelled last night due to heavy fog.  Go Canada!
It has been snowing everyday this week in Whistler! Finally the base is over 2 meters.  In the last 7 days we have gotten 127cm of new snow!  Getting up early and waiting in line is definitely worth it! Learned that the hard way yesterday.  It feels great to do some free riding and finally get in some pow laps this year.  Looking forward to a few more days of free riding before heading to Big White with Michelle Brodeur and Tayler Wilton for two NorAms.  Let it snow! :)

It was very exciting to watch two incredible athletes compete in the Sochi Women’s Snowboardcross. Not only do Dominique Maltaise and Maelle Ricker dominate the Canadian field, they also dominate on the World stage. It was a snowy night in Whistler as me and 7 other fellow snowboarders huddled around the warming glow of an iPhone screen to watch the ladies SBX qualifiers. So much excitement and adrenaline was racing through everyone as the bar we were at switched from curling to boardercross. It was time for finals. Both our girls were in the top four, Maelle was sitting fourth and Dominique was in third. I had big hopes for both of them to be on the podium. Although Maelle fell and went out first round, Dominique raced her way to big finals and captured a silver medal for Canada. Both these girls are such an inspiration to me and to many other riders. I am so lucky I have the privilege to train alongside them. Looking forward to getting back on snow with them in less than 3 weeks for the last two World Cups!

Today was the last day of our four day training camp in Whistler.  It was great to get back in a quick start section with other riders.  Looking forward to some pow days in Whistler with Tayler Wilton!
